The Forgotten Veiltails
All of my fiah are veiltails. Meaning they have a long caudal(tail) fin that sways beautifully as the fishes swim forward. The thing is, the International Betta Congress no longer consider this betta variety as a judged class, they no longer accept veiltails as show entries.
But I personally think veiltails should be valued just the same. After all, their relatively low prices and high availability in local pet stores probably jumpstarted betta enthusiasts to start breeding/showing their bettas.
We owe them much, so I hope that even if the IBC scratches them off from their list of “prized”, us betta owners keep them as our prized pets.
