I had a hunch. I had been looking for a dog and finally my boss offered me one - a boy pup, maltese. Not keen on having a boy, I thought of ways to say no to the offer. I woke up one Saturday, and asked my partner to take me to the pound, where we looked at small fluffy animals - I loved and he hated! I would never have a "large" dog, I told him. Then we saw the puppies, "kelpie x", 6m, 1f. "I want the girl!" I told Tony. "I want the one with the pretty markings!" he replied. Lo and behold, it was the same pup who immediately fell asleep and drooled into my cleavage. I was in love. 10hours later, we (well, Tony) had built me a gate, and Bundi came home. A month later her papers arrived - she was a "companion animal" - we tried the term out together, and it has stuck. My faithful companion has been there for the past 5 years, and woe will be the day I lose her, hopefully of old age. There have been many mishps - CK sunnies eaten, dvds, chinese lbooks - learning languages through ingestion, and "snow" all over our yard (foam). cuddles every night ( yes, we all sleep together) means everything, protection, love and hugs.
