Miss Bella, formerly Ruby Magestic Gold, according to her papers, was a temptation waiting to happen. This may be the most people oriented dog/flirt in the world. At this point we already had Bundi, and wanted a friend for her. Tony found an online offer from one of the boys at his worklpace, offering the goldie to a "good home" as she had been part of a breeding pair and her partner had died of snake bite. There was a photo attached and that was the end of us. Up we went, an hour to claim her. We took Bundi with us, to see if they would get along, which of course, they did. We walked out ther back to see the family's 3 yo riding bella like she was a pony. Definitely kid friendly then!!! Only when we said we would take her and offered cash, did we realise the family hadn't told the kids she was going. My sadest moment might be the 3 yo approaching me, asking me if I was "going to take his best friend?" Well, the water works kickewd in for all of us. Bella went in the truck with Tony, Bundi hopped back into my car.....andwatched as Bella got into HER truck, in HER seat. poor pup leaned as far away from me as possible and didn't talk to me all the way home. was terrified we had made a huge mistake - but Bella fit in well. She sits outside the pack order - as a dog trainer from the RAAF once told us, she is the "maitre'd" of our house - really, she does what she wants and is happy to serve. For an aristocrat, however, she still loves to tart up at the back fence for the collies, and to play in trhe septic tank when it over flows. Oh, well.....
